Chris Agnew
Who is this guy?
Name: Chris Agnew, “Aggy”
Age: 21
Hometown: Enniskillen
When not on teams you’re...: absolutely gutted…not really; studying medicine at Queen’s, playing rugby and helping to run Queen’s Christian Union
Team history
Where did you first come across Exodus: Last year at lunch in Oasis Café discussing summer plans…soon introduced to Jose and heading to South Africa.
Where have you been on past teams: South Africa with Exodus last year and Cuba with Queen’s CU the previous year.
Where are you taking this team: Moldova, Eastern Europe
Best thing about teams: The incredible privilege to learn about discipleship whilst deepening relationships with others and God. Discipleship is a big buzz word, what does it actually mean and look like in life? I think doing an Exodus team contributed a lot to my understanding of this concept so far and is probably the best thing in my view. Also the banter…
Worst thing about teams: I struggle to think of anything I could classify as worst about teams…it’s all amazing, possibly team-mates foot odour, popular answer I know but you don’t know Tim Atkinson (incidentally leading an Ex-plore team to Romania) whose foot problem was identified as a concern at the residential weekend but was exacerbated “Beyond Belief” when in Durban.
Favourite memory from being on team: too many to try and rank as favourite…the amazing privilege of being able to push a child on a swing for probably their first time, or witnessing a musical ensemble of Ronan Keatings “When you say nothing at all” at a home group, awesome craic!
Good to know...
If you could be a superhero for a day you’d be..: definitely superman…none of this long-haul flight banter.
Your desert island disc would be..: “Nothing is sound” by Switchfoot
The most embarrassing item in my wardrobe is..: the white coat I have to wear for medical exams…horrific walking down the road in it!!!
Your famous last words would be..: Don’t miss opportunities or make excuses, simply try with everything you have to live under the Lordship of Jesus, which ironically is giving up everything you have to Him. Do this and your life will be both unbelievably blessed and an unbelievable blessing…
