Internship - Learning by Doing

Internship - Learning by Doing

This year has been a year of education for me. Yes I’ve spent a day a week at the Belfast Bible College as part of my internship here, which has been of immense value, but it’s the learning that you gain from actually doing that is invaluable.

I’ve been pushed to lead and teach others through mentoring and through preparing and delivering talks, and gained experience that will aid me in the future. I’ve also learnt a great deal about the dedication needed in ministry and discovered gifts and abilities that, had I gone straight into Uni, I may not have realised I had.

My Exodus Internship has provided opportunities to experience a Bible College education, to speak in schools and SU's, to plan and run Saturday Night entertainment programmes, to assist in leading a small group and to go on a team to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the summer.  To be honest that's only scratching the surface.

God has been grooming me this year for what’s to come and has got me very excited about what lies ahead for me!  For anyone pondering options for next year, remember you don't have to go far away from home to serve God and to grow.  There are opportunities right here on our doorstep and personally, I'm now glad God called me to stay at home.
