The Ex-port Process

The Ex-port process offers churches a number of services to aid in the running of a discipleship focussed service team

 

Personnel

A Team Manager
An Exodus staff member or volunteer who provides on-going support from the outset of the process to its completion and will work alongside you to shape your project, give advice and help prepare for your ministry placement. 

A Mentor
A trained member of your church who provides pastoral care and local support for the leader during the preparation phase of ‘Export'. 

A Country Coach
A staff member or trained volunteer in the country during the ministry placement available to the group as necessary.

A Project Host
An Exodus overseas partner who sets up the day to day work of the team and is responsible for the care of the team while away.

Administration

  • Supplying and processing application forms - including medical forms - for all team members.
  • Completion of police checks and interviews for the leadership and team members as necessary.
  • Ensuring that team members with serious medical conditions have consent from a doctor before travelling.
  • Obtaining the necessary insurance for the export project including Public Liability, Employer's Liability and travel insurance.
    (Public & Employer's Liability for the preparation phase (i.e. prior to the project) should be covered by the church.
  • Handling details of finance through an individual team account set up within Exodus.
  • Ensuring team leaders have a copy of medical forms with them to aid any medical procedures that may become necessary.

 

Training & Tools

Two training events
One to help leaders during the preparation phase and the other to help them during the placement.

Discipleship Materials
An eight session course designed to compliment the 360 Adventure and help your group get ready for the placement, organise fund raising activities, develop links with parents, form a prayer base and establish good team spirit.

A range of resources to help you disciple a group while on placement.

 

Logistics

  • A discipleship focussed placement researched and shaped for your group to combine contact with a community of believers, active service, social activities and space for spiritual development.
  • Booking of flights and any additional transport.
  • Sourcing food and accommodation.
  • Making translators available.
  • Acquiring visas when necessary.
  • Providing emergency support to deal with issues such as illness, lost passports or luggage, flight problems, etc.
