Exodus gets the X-Factor

Exodus gets the X-Factor

On Saturday past Exodus Lisburn opened it's doors once more for what was a showcase of great local talent, in the 'Lisburn's got talent' event.  The acts all performed in Freedom in one of the year's most exciting nights so far.

'Olivebbage' kicked the night off and set the standard high early on with a mix of harmony's and soft guitar playing.  Lurgan's finest Mark Knox took the mic next, performing his own song 'Remind me to forget'.  We also saw Alan and Stephen from 'Article For' performing one of their own pieces, with both playing on the one guitar!  Rhoda Wallace and Heather Vient were the two other acts before the break.  Rhoda demonstrated the sort of energetic dancing that will be on display in her workshop This Saturday 25th, which is a must for any aspiring dancers.  However Heather stole the show of the first section as her voice captivated the crowd and put her into the final.

Following a slot from Dj Dave, and an acoustic set in the lounge from Jonny 'George' Gilkinson, the remaining two acts took to the floor.  The first was Judith Jamison, a girl who had only made her first visit to exodus the week before and was one of the youngest participents.  Performing a well-rehearsed dance to a high school musical tune, she was a massive hit with the crowd in Freedom and made it comfortably into the final three.  She would join Heather and the winner of the Drum-Off, Mannequin Republic's Dave Wright.

Victory was decided by 'Roar-ometer', and there was nothing in it between heather and Dave.  Then came the moment that completed a fairytale that dwarves Snow White, as the crowd went nuts for Judith, screaming in overwhelming support and sending Judith home with the prize of a portable DVD player.

After all of this excitment and drama, the night was wonderfully capped off by free-style footballer Al Jonstone, who showed off some outrageous skills, leaving the entire audience open-mouthed and providing a new hero for Exodus' own Ryan Ferris.  Al shared how he uses his gifts for God and his appearnce will be long remembered.

Next week is the Half-term Theme party, which was voted for by you.  You have chosen a Pirate theme, so enter the spirit, dress up, and enjoy a half-price entry fee and a good nights bant, see you Saturday!
