Strategically positioned in the heart of Lisburn our aim is to invite young people to follow Jesus, through events, schools work, mentoring and teams.

Working alongside David and Kirsty, you will have the opportunity to serve in a fun, fast paced, Jesus-centred environment where you will:

  • Deliver Alpha courses and our new schools programme (SOAR) in a variety of Lisburn schools.
  • Plan and lead engaging programmes and events in our recently renovated venue throughout the year.
  • Harness your creativity through our vibrant Instagram account to inspire and engage the young people of Lisburn
  • Take ownership of our weekly outreach event - ‘Breakfast Club’, and develop our evangelistic vision by bringing your fresh and creative youth ministry ideas to life.
  • Journey with a group of young people on an Exodus Team and then go on an adventure to a foreign summer placement. 
  • Learn from and connect with other local youth workers at our monthly gatherings.
  • Mentor young people in Lisburn, opening up the bible and praying together with them. 
  • Be immersed in and soak up the fun, lively and passionate Lisburn community.                                                                            

Those joining the programme in Lisburn will also have the chance to serve alongside our team in Banbridge when opportunities arise.

Our Emerging Leaders Internships exist to raise up and release the next generation of disciple makers and youth ministry leaders.

Our Emerging Leaders Internships are much more than a 'year out', but an opportunity to make a difference and discover your potential. 

Every internship includes:

  • Playing your part to reach and disciple young people with the life changing message of Jesus
  • Working alongside an Exodus staff member
  • 6+ Leadership Development Days, including innovative training from youth ministry leaders
  • 3 'Interns Together' days to connect with and learn alongside interns from other organisations
  • A 3 day residential 'Get Set, Go!' to kick off your internship (late August)
  • A Leadership Development Weekend in the Republic of Ireland
  • A 7-10 day 'Leadership Adventure' in Romania (early May)
  • A £450 subsidy towards any Exodus team
  • An Interns Leadership Development Journal
  • Mentoring from an older Christian

How to Apply

1. Start an application form and select the best internship area for you.

2. The first application window closes on 16th May, with interviews taking place shortly after. There are a limited number of spaces available, and applicants are advised to apply by this deadline where possible to avoid disappointment.

3. Applications will remain open for unfilled positions until 22nd August 2026, with interviews taking place throughout the summer. 

 

What can I expect after I apply?

  1. Confirmation Email.
  2. A call from Exodus!
    • Within a week of the early application deadline (if submitted by 16 May) or of your application submission date (if submitted later)
    • To discuss your application and invite you to an informal interview (where applicable)
  3. Agreement of a role
    • Proposed by Exodus to work around your schedule and gifts.
  4. An invitation to 'Get-Set... Go!'
    • A one-day orientation and welcome to Exodus with other interns
    • Friday 29th August in Coleraine, 10am - 8pm
  5. A start date early in September
    • Agreed with a local line-manager 
  6. To build a plan to raise at least £500 of support.
    • By the 31st October.
