The Story So Far...
Across Maghera, Magherafelt and Cookstown, 5000+ young people attend secondary school each day. In the Autumn of 2024, we began to ask; could we do something bold and new to reach young people in this community?
Standing with local churches is central in our approach to youth ministry, and so we set off by building our understanding of the area and connecting with church leaders. During this time we worked in 4 local schools, contributed to events and set up an Exodus Team.
Through this process, we've become convinced that Mid-Ulster is where God is leading us, and we are now pressing on
What's Next?
Our aim is to appoint a full time worker to start working for Exodus Mid Ulster by 1st September and to build momentum to renovate a new centre at 10a Broad Street, Magherafelt.
To help get us there, we're focused on finance, partnerships and building a team.
By 10th May we aim to:
- Raise the final £17,000 for staffing & ministry
- Including 20 x £20 monthly giving partners and 6 church partners
- Grow the prayer base to 60 people.
We are delighted by the warmth and support to date and have been blessed by an offer from a charitable trust to match all donations to Exodus Mid-Ulster between March & June 2025 (up to £20,000). This includes all monthly giving which will be matched for the first 12 months.
