Introducing SOAR

What is SOAR?

A six session course designed to inspire and equip pupils (Yr 11+) to get ready for what’s next.

We developed SOAR because we saw an opportunity to engage with upper secondary students about issues of character and personal development. So much of education is focused on building skills and knowledge to help young people answer the question, What do I want to be when I grow up?

We help students answer the question, WHO do I want to be when I grow up? Through interactive and engaging sessions delivered by trained facilitators, SOAR can help your students take responsibility for the person they are becoming and build practical skills for growth that they will return to again and again.

Overview of SOAR

SOAR is a six session leadership course for (Y11+) delivered by Exodus staff and volunteers in fun and creative ways that invite interaction so that pupils are engaged and learning is enjoyable. All 6 sessions are classroom based, workshop style lasting 35-55 mins.

SOAR is designed around the Learning for Life & Work syllabus meeting key elements from Key Stage 4, as well as 6th form personal development targets.

The sessions cover: Values, Identity, Curiosity, Change, Balance & Responsibility.

Stranmillis University College will issue a certificate of completion to every pupil who finishes the programme.
