The Placement

Texas, USA // 17th July - 1st August 2025

Welcome to Texas Y'all!

You will arrive in Texas and take a short Journey from the city to the beautiful Hill Country. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the Still Water Camp staff and their one-of-a-kind southern hospitality. You'll participate in a 2-week program packed full of hype, sport, adventure, gospel conversations, sharing your testimony, and exploring the bible with others.

While at camp, you will be the hands and feet of Jesus, serving in roles such as Camp Counselors (with campers 24/7 sharing the Love of Jesus), Core Team members (working behind the scenes to make sure everything is prepared), or on COWI Crew (helping to bring the hype, serve at meals, and carry out other roles to help camp run smoothly).

Texas teams are perfect for you to take a “Texas-Sized” step in your faith journey and allow God to push you to do more for His Kingdom. You will be pushed out of your comfort zone to demonstrate an “I am Third” way of living (Putting Jesus First, and Others before Yourself).

Story & Staff

While spending time teaching in the public school system, Still Water Camps founder, Matt Moehrig (aka Coach Mo) was confronted with the reality of how hard life can be for a young person. God gave “Coach Mo” a vision to show kids from every background the love of Christ through the avenue of a sports camp. This vision was born along the still waters of the bay near Corpus Christi, Texas. The idea that the Lord leads us beside still waters (Psalm 23:3) to a place of peace and away from the chaos of everyday life is the desire for the camp experience….and so the name Still Water Camps was born.

In October of 2001, Still Water was formed as a charity and in July of 2002 they had their first camp, a boys football camp in Medina, Texas!

Because of the desire to offer the camp experience to every student, we scholarship approximately 50% of our campers (30% internally, 20% externally) so that finances are not a hindrance to any student attending camp. A unique aspect of Still Water is bringing together kids from every type of background in a setting where they can all have first time experiences together both in adventure and the love of Christ.

Location

Still Water Camps is in a small town outside of Kerrville, Texas. The camp can host over 120 guests in cabin and bunk style rooms. The camp property is used for camps through the summer, and then as a rental facility for churches, retreats, and other gatherings the rest of the year.
