Mark Wilson

Mark lives in Lisburn with his amazing wife Jodie! He has been a youth worker for the past 8 years and attends Shankill Parish Church in Lurgan.

Outside of work Mark loves being active whether that’s running, hiking, a walk or going to the gym. He loves coffee and a good pastry! Mark’s ideal Saturday is a run followed by brunch and coffee.

The Placement

Hungary // 2nd - 12th July 2026

The Location

Welcome to Hungary!

Teams who travel to Hungary are warmly welcomed by our wonderful staff team there! Along with our partners, they have a desire to serve the people of Hungary, injecting life and fun into under-resourced communities and making it possible for them to run programmes like kids clubs, youth events, family fun nights, and so much more.

The Hungarian church is resilient, having survived wars, communism, depopulation, and economic hardship. Many of our communities have big dreams, but they need people like you with passion and energy to make them happen. That's where you can make a huge impact! You don't have to be an "expert" to make a difference: simply by going, you can help smaller communities do big things!

The Placement

Reformed Church of Noszvaj

Noszvaj Reformed church is a traditional church located in the town centre. It has 400 members and is growing, with exciting opportunities to reach out to more than 100 weekly attendees. The church is close to a beautiful Hungarian city called Egér.

The Host

Pastor Tibor Anda

Pastor Tibor has been the senior pastor of the church for 20+ years. He is looking forward to warmly welcoming you to his church and community.

He also serves as the Regional Supervisor of the Reformed Church, overseeing youth and children's programmes.

The Project

This year's Exodus team will help with the kids ministry, providing an exciting opportunity for the children to meet guests from abroad, and learn a little English. The team will teach the bible through English lessons to primary school age children. Members of the youth will be on hand to help translate.

Other ministries like home visits, youth meetings, and practical work will round out the time. Downtime will be spent exploring the region, full of historical interest and natural beauty!

Location

You will be based in Noszvaj, a village of less than 2,000 people. The church is one of the most well-equipped in the region, with musical instruments, screens and audio equipment. 20-30 youth typically come to the morning service.

The church is close to a beautiful Hungarian city Egér, known across Hungary for its historic 13th-century castle, a rich 16th-century Ottoman minaret and Baroque architecture.

Launch

A team launch in Hungary is full of fun, beauty, and connection! You'll gather with other Exodus Teams in our beautiful launch centre and learn about Hungarian culture, try some new foods, and get ready to meet your host!
