Leader

Marinda Boubel

Marinda is a wife, mother of 3 girls, and aspiring bread baker from Texas. Her and her family moved to
Northern Ireland in October 2023 as full-time missionaries with Exodus.

Marinda loves working out (the closer to death it feels the better), reading (audiobooks count), listening to podcasts, having impromptu dance parties with her daughters, and spending time outside in God’s creation.

This is Marinda’s second time leading an Exodus team. She loves the Lord and wants young people to
experience the radically beautiful life change that comes from BOLDLY following Jesus!

CO-LEADER

Dean McFarland

Dean is a fabricator from Derry. He loves spending time with his young family and spending time riding or working on motorbikes. Dean has led a few Exodus Teams before and is really excited to help the team go deeper in their faith! Join the Team if you're up for a good bit of banter, a good bit of fun, and a good bit of Jesus!

The Placement

Ireland // 3rd - 13th July 2025

WHAT'S THE CRAIC!

Methodist Church West Cork

All Irish/UK adventures begin at our residential centre on the North Coast. Here, an energetic bunch of volunteers will lead you through your launch programme; two days packed full of team building, faith exploration and hopefully squeezing in a trip to The Lake, Kilrea.

From the very north of Ireland, to the very south, you'll need your best Spotify playlist prepared for the drive to Drimoleague, Cork. This quaint village is home to some great Irish accents, a beautiful coastline and a fantastic Spar adjacent to the church - perfect for post-ministry nourishment. You should also ask the locals about their old tradition of Irish road bowling....

This placement is perfect if you are willing to throw yourself into connecting with others and trying new things. Suzie and the team are passionate about reaching children and young people in their area. You'll be invited to jump in and serve others through music, sport and creative games at every opportunity aiming to build friendships and share the hope of Jesus.

So what are you waiting for? Load up the car and experience this coast to coast adventure!

Story & Staff

The Methodist Parish in West Cork is part of the wider Methodist Church movement. Esther Kingston is the Community and Church Worker in this area.  We LOVE her and her passion to make disciples among children and young people. She will be on maternity leave during your visit but hopes to pop-in and say "hello!"

Suzie Gallagher is the new resident minister and is over the moon to be hosting you.  You will be kept super busy throughout your stay as you lead a vibrant kids programme from morning - late afternoon, a youth programme in the evening, visiting families from the church for dinner and taking part in church services.

Location

The Parish has a church hall and is located in a country village called Drimoleague, one hour from Cork city centre.
