Caitlin Jones

Meet Caitlin, she is currently the children's, youth and family worker at first Lisburn Presbyterian church while studying a masters in mission and ministry!

This is Caitlin's 6th team, 5th time leading and 2nd time to Moldova which she is so excited to see again.

Caitlin is also a gymnastics coach and when she manages to find some free time loves to go on walks and spend time with her dogs.

Daniel Carrington

Meet Dan, he currently works as a Science Technician and volunteers with Exodus and in his home church. Dan has co-led two Exodus teams previously to Hungary and Slovakia and to Moldova. He loves the outdoors doing things like hiking and canoeing. Dan is looking forward to helping a new team of young people grow in their faith and practically serve God in another country and culture.

Moldova is one of Europe’s poorest and least-visited countries, with many young people leaving in search of work abroad. Many communities face deep social and economic challenges. Yet local churches are faithfully serving their neighbours, creating spaces of welcome, hope, and renewal. Our Moldova teams are full of impact, opportunity and adventure as they come alongside this work, standing side by side with our partners as we pray for, share with, and serve a people in need.

The Placement Partner

Lumina Lumii (Light of the World)

Lumina Lumii is a lively Pentecostal church in the city of Bălți, Moldova and it is at the heart of the community you will be stepping into this summer. The church is full of warmth and hospitality, with Sunday gatherings, small groups and regular community events that bring people together to worship, grow and enjoy life. Their desire is simple and meaningful. They want to help people meet Jesus, experience real community and become a light in their city.

The Host

Anatol Ganceri

Anatol is the lead Pastor of Lumina Lumii. He is married and has 8 children. He first hosted an Exodus team in 2001 and has been partnering with Exodus ever since.

The Project

This team will make a real impact by encouraging the local church, serving families in the community and bringing hope and joy to children in nearby villages. This project is ideal if you love adventure, serving others and immersing yourself in a completely new culture.

The team will:
• Lead kids clubs in neighbouring villages
• Visit families in need and offer encouragement and prayer
• Take part in practical projects supporting the church or community
• Join church services through worship, testimonies and helping with children’s ministry
• Build friendships with local believers and volunteers

Location

Bălți is a lively urban city in northern Moldova. Much of the team’s ministry will take place at the church but the team will also serve in the quieter neighbouring villages for kids clubs, home visits and practical projects.

Launch

All Moldova teams begin their placement with a launch at Lumina Lumii Church in Bǎlți. There they will spend two days alongside other teams, learning about Moldova and preparing for their placement project before the work begins! They will sleep in dorm style rooms, and food will be served in the church dining room by local volunteers.

Daily Planner

Day 1

Board your bus and travel to Dublin Airport before your flight to Chișinău. Travel with your hosts by minibus/cars (2 hr) to Balti.

Day 2-3

Throw yourself into an action packed Launch programme with another Exodus team. Finish the Launch programme and get ready to begin your placement.

Day 4-10

Serve alongside your host through children's, youth and practical ministry.

Day 11

Say goodbye and travel home.

Travel Details

This team requires a passport valid for 6 months after the return date. Individuals without a valid passport should apply for one as soon as possible.

The team will fly direct from Dublin to Chišinǎu Airport.
